Along with a couple of my Labour colleagues I requested a visit to Dungavel detention centre. That request was declined and my letter to David Mundell questioning the decision has so far been ignored. It has always been my belief that in any democracy, places of detention should be allowed to be seen by any elected member by way of safeguarding basic rights of detainees. I strongly believe that it is not unreasonable to be able to witness exactly what goes on inside the detention centre at Dungavel.

Read this great piece by Jeanette Findlay of Fans Against Criminalisation, setting out why the only sensible move for the Football Act is to scrap it. It is an appalling piece of legislation.

Fantastic to be joined by so many campaigners as I launched my Bill to repeal the football act today. We were in Third Lanark's former pitch, one of the first places I watched football being played. The SNP's hated football act is now in injury time. Write to your MSP and tell them to scrap the act.
